International Women's Day (IWD)--8 March, 2022--presents an opportunity to celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. This year’s theme, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, is in recognition of the contribution of women and girls around the world, who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and a response to build a more sustainable future for all.
PRUDE Inc. is proud to celebrate with women across the province by participating in this year’s global event with the #BreakTheBias campaign, which highlights the importance of challenging biases and discrimination with the goal of creating a more inclusive and gender-equal world.
The challenge for this year, according to Status of Women Canada, is to make the women of the past proud, the women of the present inspired, and the women of the future envisioned. Women have made great strides in equality, yet there is still much to be achieved. International Women's Day will provide a unique and global opportunity to reignite, inspire and channel women's equality for the future.
PRUDE Inc. invites all women, girls, and leaders in our community, across different generations, to be a part of its IWD celebration by participating in one or more of the activities outlined below.

Lorraine Watkins is my inspiration. When we launched the UCOF sewing program for newcomers at United Colours of Fashion last year, we needed a volunteer seamstress to drive the project. And Lorraine showed up with much more - expertise, resources and equipment! Her dedication, love and charisma won the program participants over and they have grown to to be one big happy family of learners. Thank you Lorraine for supporting our newcomer community.

I'd like to celebrate an outstanding woman who is #breakingthebias-Lorraine Peters of LModels & Personal Development Academy. Through her work she continues to empower young people and adults alike with self-confidence and skills required to maximize their potential and pursue new opportunities. Kaima Designs was launched on Lorraine's runway in 2017 and ever since, she has continued to support the brand in different capacities. Lorraine is drawn to the social mission of Kaima Designs and donates proceeds of her fashion show to the girl-child education initiative in Africa. Thank you Lorraine for always going the extra mile for others.

Anne Driscoll is one of the hardest working women I have ever met. Her long journey working with the non-profit, helping and supporting misfortunate families, newcomers families, women, disadvantaged youth and children is endless.
She always has the time to listen to you and know exactly what to say! She is the beating heart for her community. She is smart, innovative, strong yet kind, loving and selfless.
