Bill Consolvo

Bill Consolvo is the Co-Owner of Consolvo Bikes with retail stores at Parkway Mall in Saint John and Mountain Rd in Moncton. He has been involved with the Saint John Bike Share since it’s founding in 2014. Saint John Bike Share collects donated bikes, rehabilitates them and gives them to Saint Johner’s who are unable to afford a bike. At a bike giveaway later this month, we will give away our 30th Bike. The need for bikes intensified with the influx of Syrian Refugees this year. In addition to preparing bikes for giveaways, Bill has been one of the several volunteers operating “Tune Up Tuesdays” in the Crescent Valley Neighborhood. Anybody who needs a flat tire repaired or adjustments made can come to “Tune up Tuesday”. If you drive through Crescent Valley today you will see children and adults riding bikes like a scene out of the 1950’s!
The Bike Share, through a Grant from the Youth Employment Program recently hired Mohammad Younes to help operate the program. The efforts to create and maintain the Bike Share could not have happened without the help of many volunteers. Special Thanks goes to the Bike Share Committee; Craig Campbell, Anne Driscoll, Anne Barrett, Joanne Barry, Debbie McLeod, Sharon Fournier, Wayne Arrowsmith, Jocelyn McIntyre, Shirley Stein and Eva Feddery. Thanks also goes to Ron Wilson and Jason Burry. Funding has come from Pro Kids, The Economic & Social Inclusion Corporation (Barry Galloway), NB Sports & Recreation Branch (Greg Evans), City of Saint John Leisure Services Department (Greg Cutler), Social Development (Mark Stanley) and Post Secondary Education and Labour (Paul Graham).

Trevor Shea

Trevor Shea grew up in Rothesay, New Brunswick where he now lives with his wife Jenny and two children, Logan and Julia.  During his youth, Trevor was fortunate enough to have an aunt with cerebral palsy which gave him the opportunity to become quite skilled at wheelchair tricks.  He also learned the importance of embracing individual differences, such as physical handicaps, to appreciate the value of all people.
After being educated at UNBSJ, UNB Fredericton and the University of Cambridge, Trevor found work as a guidance counsellor at Rothesay Park and Macdonald Consolidated schools. These days, he is grateful for community allies such as P.R.U.D.E who support the school district’s commitment to inclusion and a positive learning environment for all students.  This cultural inclusion extends not only to young people from various countries and ancestries, but also to “micro-cultures” in the school such as “youth with more or less money”, “youth with specific interests” and “students with a given personality”.  It is Trevor’s hope that all his students learn to appreciate the value and strength of diversity.

Kyungpo (Julia) Park

Kyungpo (Julia) Park is the owner and manager of Thai Pho Uptown, with her husband Dave Kwon, and has developed her business over the past eight years. Prior to opening her restaurants, she ran a business in the education industry back in Korea.
Julia immigrated to Canada nine years ago with her husband and two children. She came here for better education opportunities for her children. She believed in giving them the chance to develop not only their English skills, but also their personal interests. After arriving and starting a restaurant, she realized the business environment here in Canada provided her with many opportunities and she decided to grow her business in Saint John.
One of Julia’s goals at Thai Pho Uptown is to provide everyone with fresh, healthy meals that make them happy. She enjoys working with the public and meeting many new people from the Saint John community.
